  • I dreamt of you last night
You were hugging me in tight
We looked for what was lost
That seemed to be out of sight.
    Staring into the everything
    Longing for what had passed
Laughing and crying like we often did.
    Sad, knowing it couldn’t last.

Let me go back to sleep
So I can see you once more
Though your love is always with me
    The dream feels like before
I know your love is always with me
    The dream feels like before.

    Waking felt too harsh
I was desperate to hold on
I felt like I had lost you again
    When the dream was gone.
    Beyond my bedroom wall
A baby’s cry mirrored my grief.
Night was being taken from me
    Sunrise was the thief

Let me go back to sleep
So I can see you once more
Though your love is always with me
    The dream feels like before
I know your love is always with me
    The dream feels like before.

My first sip of coffee settles my soul
I am smiling through my tears
    Even the baby is quiet
as the Willie Nelson song appears
You were always on my mind
And came to calm my fears.

Let me go back to sleep
So I can see you once more
Though your love is always with me
    The dream feels like before
I know you’re always with me
    The dream

  • Versatile Canadian singer Cara Lianne McLeod releases her newest single, “The Dream.” The song talks about a dream Cara had about her dad who had passed away, and how bittersweet the dream was because they both knew it couldn’t last. Upon waking, she wrote as much of the dream down as she could as it faded from her mind. With a mellow pop sound, similar to Sarah MacLachlan with the honesty of a Donovan Woods ballad, Cara hopes her listeners can recall poignant dreams about their lost loves.

INTRODUCING

McLeod, Bowman & Bray

A singer, a Leo, and a Torontonian walk onto a stage…

Vocals: Cara Lianne McLeod
Piano: Neville Bowman
Guitar: Sean Bray

Cara Lianne McLeod is making waves in Canadian music. With a series of emotionally resonant releases, her latest single “The Dream,” is a deeply personal reflection on a dream about her late father. Following closely behind is “Do You Really See Me,” a collaboration with five-time Juno Award winner and Glass Tiger co-founder Michael Hanson, who also produced the track. With Hanson’s renowned expertise, the single promises a powerful blend of pop and introspective lyricism.

Beyond her recent musical ventures, McLeod is a multi-faceted artist with a strong presence in both performance and production. Her collaborative spirit extends to McLeod, Bowman & Bray, a trio she co-founded, which made its debut at the infamous Yardbird Suite in January 2025 and will appear in next season’s lineup. As the founder of CLM Productions, she co-produced a 2023 concert performance of Donizetti’s Roberto Devereux and is currently working on future concerts including a diverse program of music and artists.

In addition to her musical projects, McLeod is the host of the newly launched radio show In & Out of Love on Big E Radio, where she explores love, loss, and the human experience through a blend of music and storytelling. She is also preparing a new touring show of the same name, which will feature a unique mix of classical, jazz, and pop music, paired with personal anecdotes from her own life.

With an impressive range of projects and a deeply personal approach to her artistry, Cara Lianne McLeod is carving out a distinctive niche in the Canadian music landscape.
